Attention All Garment Weavers …
Rules specific to the creation of your garment.
1. Fabric must be copyright free and designed and handwoven by the entrant. Linings can be made from commercial fabric.
2. Embellishments such as ribbons, buttons, and trims can be from a commercial source.
3. Garments may be sewn from a commercial pattern as long as the pattern is acknowledged.
4. It is permissible for a different individual to do the sewing as long as that person is acknowledged.
5. Please keep a Project-at-a-glance record. This must be submitted for all winning garments.
6. Semi-finalists garments must arrive at the Handwoven office by May 12, 2011.
7. Winning garments will appear in the Sept/Oct 2011 issue of Handwoven and participants agree to allow Handwoven to keep the items until after they are returned from Sweden.
8. Garments submitted to Handwoven magazine may not be submitted to Väv magasinet.
Official Rules
1. Eligibility
Attention All Garment Weavers … challenge is open to everyone. Void where prohibited by law.
The challenge is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
Participation constitutes entrant's full and unconditional agreement to
these Official Rules and Interweave’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the challenge.
The sponsor is Interweave LLC, 201 East Fourth Street, Loveland, CO 80537.
2. Timing
The challenge begins on January 7, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. Mountain Time (“MT”) and ends on April 1, 2011 at 11:59 p.m. MT (the “Promotion Period”). Sponsor’s computer is the official time keeping device for this Promotion.
3. How to Enter
During the Promotion Period, participants must submit photos
via the online form and follow set guidelines. Entries should have been created within the past two years prior to the challenge.
4. Winner Selection
Semi-Finalists will be announced by April 21, 2011.
Entries must not violate the rights of other parties. Entries which judges determine to be offensive or defamatory will be disqualified. Participant assigns and transfers to Interweave the right to publish any of the entries worldwide both in print and digital media. All participants agree to allow Interweave to display their entry or entries in a gallery on Weaving Today.
The Entries will be narrowed down to semi-finalists by our editors from submitted photos, and then the winners will be determined from the semi-finalists.
Judges will be fair and impartial. Decisions of the judging panel will be
final. Odds of winning depend on number of eligible Entries received and
quality of submitted Entries. Judging will be completed on or about May 16, 2011.
ALL POTENTIAL CHALLENGE WINNERS ARE SUBJECT TO VERIFICATION BY SPONSOR WHOSE DECISIONS ARE FINAL AND BINDING IN ALL MATTERS RELATED TO THE
PROMOTION.
Potential winners must continue to comply with all terms and conditions of these Official Rules, and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all
requirements. The potential winners will be notified by email, telephone,
or registered mail after the date of the judging and will be required to mail their garment to Interweave Press/Handwoven; 201 E. Fourth St.; Loveland, CO 80537.
