Handwoven/Väv Garment Challenge

		*Attention All Garment Weavers!*
		This challenge is for YOU! Väv magasinet and Handwoven are cosponsors of a runway fashion show at Väv (Sweden’s version of Convergence) in Borås, Sweden in 2011. Handwoven will select ten garments for the show, five loom-shaped and five tailored. All ten will appear as projects in Handwoven. Photos for jurying (a detail and full view) must be submitted by April 1, 2011.

About the challenge:

Handwoven is pleased to invite you to enter our garment challenge. This is a juried competition and the winning garments (sorry, we can't take the weavers) will be part of a joint runway show with Väv magasinet at Väv 2011 conference in September 2011. These items will also appear as projects in a special garment issue of Handwoven scheduled for Sept/Oct 2011 (so they must be projects for which you can provide instructions). So get your looms warped and your designing minds engaged to create your “best ever” handwoven garment! Not a seamstress? You can even team up with a sewing friend. You can also submit more than one piece.

Fill out the form below and upload three digital images: a photo of the front and back of the garment and a detail photo of the woven cloth. For best results, photograph your piece against a neutral background. Keep in mind that the finalists will be selected based on these photographs—it is to your advantage to submit the best possible images of your submission(s).

First day to enter is January 7, 2011. All entries must be received by midnight MDT April 1, 2011. There is no limit to the number of entries, but please submit one entry form per piece.
